refinishing

Hardwood Flooring refinishing

Refinishing hardwood floors is a great way to restore them to their original beauty. The process brings back the natural look of the wood while adding a new finish coat to make the floors durable and strong once again. At Peak Floors, we follow the NWFA sanding guidelines to ensure a flawless result that will truly impress. With years of experience and ongoing training, our team is committed to delivering the highest quality refinishing services to each and every customer. Our goal is to make your floors beautiful—and built to last for years to come.

Dust is one of the biggest concerns during a refinishing project, and we’ve taken serious steps to minimize it. With our advanced dust containment system, dust doesn’t have to be a part of the process. We use the most advanced dust containment systems on the market to ensure we leave your home clean and as dust free as possible. These systems are able to contain up to 99% of the fine dust. This cutting-edge system is a must—for our team and for your home.

GREEN FLOORING FINISHES

Hardwood flooring is constantly evolving, and finishes have come a long way over the past 20 years. One of the most significant changes has been the introduction of water-based finishes, which offer greater durability and fewer drawbacks compared to traditional options. High-quality water-based or UV-cured products are excellent choices for those seeking lower VOC (volatile organic compound) levels.

Lower VOCs mean reduced odor and fewer harmful chemicals released into your home’s air. While some traditional finishes can off-gas for up to 60 days, many water-based and UV products have off-gassing periods ranging from just 2 to 36 hours—a major improvement.

To keep your floors looking their best, these finishes typically require a maintenance coat every 5 to 8 years.

Hardwood Flooring refinishing // WHAT TO EXPECT

Hardwood floors are known for their resilience. They can endure years of wear and tear—and when the time comes, they can be sanded down and refinished to look like new. With just a few hours of work, the transformation can be truly remarkable.

Over time, even the most durable hardwood will show signs of use. That’s where refinishing comes in. Through sanding and recoating, we revitalize your floors and restore their original beauty. One of the greatest advantages of hardwood is that it can be refinished multiple times, making it a smart choice for long-term value.

Wondering what to expect?

Before your refinishing project begins, you may have questions about the process and the timeline. While every job is unique, the average refinishing project takes about two days. Some may take less time, others a bit more, depending on the size and condition of your floors.

ABOUT OUR VACUUMS

We understand that dust is a major concern during the floor refinishing process, and we’re committed to doing everything possible to contain it effectively. No one wants to spend days cleaning after their floors are redone—and neither do we. Our goal is for your floors to shine, not be covered in dust. That’s why we’ve invested in the best vacuum system on the market as part of our advanced dust containment setup. Unlike traditional sanding equipment, which often releases and empties dust inside the home, our system captures and removes dust outside via a powerful trailer-mounted vacuum. We’re proud to be a 99% dust-free company, and we know you’ll love the clean, worry-free experience we provide.

The Lasting Impact of Hardwood Flooring

Hardwood flooring can make a dramatic impact in your home. Its timeless beauty transforms any space and stands the test of time. Hardwood isn’t a passing trend—it’s a classic flooring choice that has been valued for generations. It’s not only beautiful and durable, but also becomes a smart long-term investment as the years go by.

The design possibilities are nearly endless. With a wide variety of stains, finishes, and wood species to choose from, you can create a look that perfectly fits your style and space.

Choosing the Right Installer Matters

Selecting the right installer is just as important as selecting the right flooring. You want a company that follows the strict guidelines set by the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA)—an organization created to protect both homeowners and tradespeople.

At Peak Hardwood, our team is trained in accordance with NWFA standards for installation and finishing, ensuring that every project meets the highest quality benchmarks. With decades of combined experience, we’re confident in our ability to deliver results that exceed expectations. Our long list of satisfied customers is a testament to our process and craftsmanship. We aim to provide you with a floor that truly lasts a lifetime.

Our Installation Process

Our installation methods are just as important as the materials we use. We follow proper nailing schedules, use top-tier tools and supplies, and take every step to ensure your floor is installed to exact specifications. When installed correctly and maintained properly, hardwood floors can last for decades.

While we can’t control how your floor is cared for after installation, we can give it the best possible start—one that reduces the risk of gapping, movement, or other common issues. Our goal is to make your flooring experience smooth and worry-free, so you can enjoy your new floors for years to come.

Domestic Vs Exotic

There are two main categories of hardwood flooring: domestic and exotic. Depending on where you live and the local climate, different species of wood may be available for use in your home. Domestic hardwoods are generally a safer choice because they tend to be more stable indoors, but there are many different options available. When meeting with an estimator, they will be able to discuss which hardwood species are the best options for your home and lifestyle.
